The Three Letter Word That is Killing Your Progress…

Internal language has a very powerful impact on our lives. Each word we use has a meaning. That meaning represents some form of energy or power. After all the power of life and death are in the toungue… Words are used to create worlds as well as destroy them. At this point in life you have developed a personal language that represents who you are. Is it possible that your personal languange, or more to the point, words in that language, are slowing your progress in life?

Yesterday I had a moment of clarity that I wanted to share. It is all about the work TRY.

I know you are trying to do many things. STOP IT! You are not supposed to TRY to do anything. You are supposed to DO or NOT DO. The word try is in the Bible only 17 times. However an accurate translation of this word in all cases would be rendered – prove. It was always used to represent testing of a person or thing. Far from the way this word is used in our language today.

Therefore in the Word of God there is no place for the disposition we call TRYING. We do not try, we simply do. Our doing is a result of our state of BEING. You will DO based on what you BE. (bad English, but you get the point)

Try is not in God’s language yet many have asked for His support and providence while choosing to live in a place of ambiguity that does not acknowledge the power and gift of God. This is frustrating, disappointing, and a waste of time. TRYING is refusing to CHOOSE, the most precious gift bestowed upon man. If you CHOOSE to BE what you desire, you will have all that you allow yourself to see.

Trying is accepting the possibility of failure. To try is to violate the essence of your being and launch your ship into the waters of uncertainty. We do not TRY, we CHOOSE. Once we CHOOSE we empower a direction that brings with it certainty and the realization of our true intention, whether positive or negative.

BE, CHOOSE, and DO all this is your honest intention.

To BE or Not to BE, that is the question…

What Does Law Have To Do With It?

Being a person who was raised in a traditional Christian environment I am frequently asked how I became so focused on universal law. The answer is simple.

All this had to come from somewhere,. Something has to make it all work. Perhaps the best answers are found behind the creation story I was taught…I call it God’s basic recipe.

Just for a moment strip away all the layers we use as filters to understand our world. Beneath your upbringing, traditions, practices, perspectives, influences, rules, regulations, there has to be a foundation upon which this world sits. Inside the wonder of creation there are certain laws that regulate how all this works. It controls nature, the seasons, and many aspects of what happens in every persons life.

The universe is so vast. People from all over the world come to different understandings of what all this means. In some cultures these understandings give birth to religions, in others it may simply be ways of living life that are engrained in a culture. Still every person has the same basic questions. Where did I come from? Why I am here? What am I supposed to do?

You can spend a lifetime trying to figure this all out. No matter what you believe today, it is simply a filter that gives you a context for your world. That is no disrespect to what you believe, nonetheless, it is true. Most people are not responsible for what they believe. By that I mean they do not originate their beliefs, they adopt them. If you had to start from scratch would end up in the exact place you are today in terms of what you believe and how you see the world? Perhaps, but it is not likely.

So today, just for a few moments, think about your world as if it were stripped of all your previous conditioning and programming. How would you reconcile the wonder of your physical body? How would you reason the wonder and order of nature? Would your perspectives, understanding, or beliefs be equally applied to everyone on the planet?

Think about it and you may be on the way to understanding how to better live the life you desire…

Receiving Requires Condifence In Your Value As A Person

I was reading an email from someone who mentioned that they were not comfortable charging people for the services they provide. Have you ever had this problem? I know I have. If you understand the law of circulation, the law of cause and effect, or perhaps the law of sowing and reaping, you can have a better handle on what is going on.

The basis of all these laws are rooted in the fact that we are all connected at a spiritual level. Regardless of our race, geographic dispersion, or beliefs. We are all connected. As such it is helpful to see the world through the eyes of this connectedness. (is that a word?)

As such we all need one another. I need you and you need me. We are all designed to make some contribution to the world and to mankind. The broad diversity of talents and gifts sheds light on how many of the worlds ills could easily be remedied if each person simply took up the mantle of the their responsibility to contribute to the whole.

When I give to you I enact the law of giving of receiving. When I perform a service for you, I am enacting the law of cause and effect. If my actions, intentions, and performance are rich with benefit for you then the laws which govern this universe will reciprocate what I have done.

Here is the tricky part for most, and perhaps for you.

If you have barriers erected in your subconscious then you will not allow the completion of the cycle for the good you have done or the service you have provided. That result is not about the law, it is about you. Nothing will ever be forced on you. You have to be willing to receive in kind for your contribution. That is the way this works.

If you are having issues in the receiving department, yet you know your service has evidence of value then I must encourage you to look inside. If you do not see yourself as worthy of receiving then you will not allow it into your life. I have witnessed this on many occasions when people have offered an exchange for things of value only to be told, “no thank you.”

The worst is when we are unable to tell people what we charge for our services. Why? Are our prices too high or do we not feel good about requiring payment for our services? This is all about deserving and worthiness. It is about your definition of yourself.

When you are hesitant to charge a fair price for your services you undermine the value of what you provide and the confidence you have in yourself. Let’s face a simple but often overlooked reality, when people buy your services they are really buying you.

Their willingness to pay a fair price for what you do is a reflection of the value they see in you. Do not embarrass them or limit their opportunity to play their ‘connected’ role in your life.

Take minute and really think about what you are worth and what you deserve in life. Be honest and open with yourself. If you hit an uncomfortable area, explore it. If there is something in your past or character that needs refinement then commit to making the changes needed.

Now list the services and other areas of value that define who you are. Read it over as many times as needed until you can say them out loud with confidence.

Finally practice saying, “I offer _______, and I charge a price of $XX.XX for this service. You will find that my work is worth much more than I charge for it”.  Practice this until you know you can say it confidently while looking your client or prospect in the eye.

“No one will ever pay you more than you think you are worth”

If this helps, let me know.

Have a great day.

You’ve Got Questions – We’ve Got Answers!

Ok, at some point something has jarred your thinking. One three things has occurred:

1. You have a traditional Western Christianity experience somewhere in your background. But for some reason the pieces do not seem to fit. There are perhaps some things that do not make sense and you want to know if all this is the way it is supposed to be.

2. You have heard something about Universal Law, Deliberate Creation, or the like. Maybe you saw a movie like The Secret or What the Bleep. There are many impressive speakers who teach on universal law like, Michael Beckwith, Bob Proctor, Jack Canfield, Joe Vitale, Esther Hicks, and more. Nonetheless, you have some curiosity about all the hype surrounding the Law of Attraction or other Universal Laws. But the question is whether all this violates your religious upbringing.

3. You are curious and just happened to stumble upon this Blog. Maybe someone sent you a link. Who knows?

But I want to be clear, you are not hear by accident. You have 100% attracted what you are about to read and hear. There is no such thing as coincidence.

Next, while I say we have answers the real fact is that we have perspectives and perhaps more questions for you to consider. This site is not here to make you feel good about whatever you have believed or practiced in the past. Consider this to be more like breadcrumbs along a path that will help you discover your own answers and fill some of the blanks in your life.

We are forever learning. It is a lifelong process.

This site is spiritual in nature but not at all religious. There is no dogma here and noone is going to tell you what you must do. Choose your own path.

I commit to partner with you in exploration but never harmful debate. I am not interested helping you resolve fear-based responses to your past beliefs. If you are that stuck on them you should keep them probably go to another site. I do not say this to be rude but the simple truth that I have been through all that and have been where you are, grasping at straws to resolve what you have been told all along is ‘ the way’. As you learn more, you will see that fear as at the root of what will ‘bug’ you about this site. I make no apologies. After all you came looking for this perspective. Take it straight!

I will certainly refer to scripture from the Bible as well as other writings. All useful questions will always be answered to the best of my knowledge and experience. But as I said, you should also be prepared to receive a question as a response to your inquiry. It is typically more useful to you to explore and determine your own answer, perhaps the one you are able to handle at the time.

All that said, let’s dive in. I am anxious to hear from you and be inspired to address your concerns as well.
